The starting point for this site-specific sculpture titled RISE and FALL is the idea of drought. This sculpture created from a Eucalyptus Globulus or blue gum tree died like many other species of trees, from lack of water. Not only did this tree in 2017 suffer the consequences of the extreme drought so did vast areas of forests throughout the country, making the landscape defenseless and vulnerable to forest fires.

Etched deep into the surface of this 15-meter tree are hundreds of water droplets that continually fall in relationship to one another creating a unified network. In this particular work, RISE and FALL, Frost focuses specifically upon one particular tree alienating it through the act of carving, drawing attention, to urgent environmental issues, such as drought and climate change.
