DoubleGees

Sitespecific artwork for Form WA
Doublegees was created by the International artist Stuart Ian Frost from locally-sourced Jarrah wood. Frost is known for his site-specific environmental sculptures crafted from locally sourced materials. The sculpture Doublegees was crafted in the Torbay region during early 2018. Taking inspiration from the invasive plant species of the same name, this artwork forms a meditation on the Doublgee (Emex australis), rendered iconic through the abstraction of its three thorned points.

The sculpture Doublegees is currently on loan to the city of Albany. The work itself was made possible by support from FORM a non-profit art organization based in Perth, Australia, Harley Coyne, Kevin Draper and Indra Geidans.
