Cyclus

This multi layered Artworks objective is to give a depth of vision creating a characteristic structural “carving”. These characteristic signs allow the artwork to contain a similarity, proximity and continuation to the natural world. In this way the artworks cycle can be seen to symbolize the constant, repetitive cycle of the natural world upon the Wadden Sea. The artworks visual representation through the use of repetitive signs is a “code” that symbolizes the cycle of the Wadden Seas tidal waters. The perforated cylindrical structure of the sculpture emphases the experience of “Cyclus”, when experienced in connection with the constant, swell and surging of the sea and winds. In this way, the cylindrical structure can be seen to resemble a filter, reminding us that we have a responsibility to refrain from polluting our oceans.
